Edited to say it is real toning in my opinion (but I am just learning).
Wait until you see the pastel Proof Roosie I mailed you.

I got really bored last night and took a torch lighter to some coins to see what would happen, let them cool overnight looked at them this morning and posted one of the better ones to see what people thought about it. This is the first time i've ever tried AT'ing a coin. It will not be sold I figured if i got anything that looked kinda cool i'd put it back in the 2x2 and mark it AT, it is now part of my collection forever. I only did this once and i'm not going to do it anymore, i just wanted to see how easy it really was to AT a coin. After doing only 10 coins and posting the best one and getting good reviews of it i can see how big of a problem real coin doctors are, if i can make one look ok i can't imagine what people that do this everyday are doing to coins.

Say, did you keep it in the mint cellophane when you heated it? and how many seconds, and how far away?
Probable make a few hundred thousand if the reciepe is correct. Maybe use a little
Oregeno , parsley, garlic, salt and a few Bay leaves. That way if the toning doesnt work out,
I can always eat them for lunch.

I was at a small local show this past weekend and happened to catch the tail end of a conversation in which the dealer was speaking in hushed tones to another person -- so hushed I had trouble hearing even sticking my head next to them over the display case
Anyway, the dealer was discussing some person who toned nickles blue using a chemical. Evidently it only works well with nickles and looks completly natural.

I guess i'm still safe then, I use heat
I really thought your coin was a natural as you can see. I have several with simular toning, natural that is.
