When we convince BJ to divide the forums, who will you miss the most?

Personally, I don't have an answer, since any division will probably mean that my collecting interests represent, and would likely be on "both sides". Who would you miss? Where will you call "home"?

i guess i could get used to the new and upcoming pre 1955 US coin forums and leave the moderns and all the 69/70 coins

and all the modern coins that are in holders thst if broken out lose more than 90% of their value as such

    i would survive

    sincerely michael

I'm sure glad that there are some "modern" guys who also delve into the classics. I'd miss they're insight.

I guess that "visa versa" is also true. image

Because of Franklins I suppose I'll be in the modern section, but I'll have to TRoll the Classic section......

Who would I miss? Where would I be anyway?
On the 1897 board talking about toned Barbers.
No, on the Modern board talking about 1997 Pop Tops.
No, on the Morgan board grading toned Morgans from eBay scans.
Maybe the Registry board cause I have a Reg set there someplace.
Maybe on the foreign board asking about another 1697 Belguim ship coin.
If I wanted to talk about Sample Slabs I'd have to remember to cut it off at the PCGS 4S1 on the Classic board and remember the PCGS 6S3 will get me flamed unless I remember to keep it on the Modern board.
That's too many boards to check with my interests. I think I would lose interest and go back to reading the Coinworld newspaper like I did in the old days.
Mostly I would miss the trolls that would still go from board to board stirring up stuff.
Change that we can believe in is that change which is 90% silver.

In your case, Lucy, it's not trollin', it's just "checkin' out the action". image
ps. I'm with you, Dog. I have interests in most divisions too. Heck, anything that affects the market is "of interest."

Maybe just a plain coin board for us misfits? image We could call it the Coin Board and you could talk about any kind of coin. Oh gawd, I'm de-evolving.

  • Maybe we do need 2 boards. Here is how I see it being set up!
    1. U.S. Coin board
    2. AH coin board for those that are too good to associate with the other lowly peons. Ken...My opinion

Since BJ is in charge of registry stuff, but from what I have seen, not the forums. I guess I will miss nothing. When they created the new buy-sell forum (set registry by name), no one seemed to mind.

To be honest, I'd just be annoyed with a split forum. So many issues are not related to purely classic or modern. And to have to double post (even if just to point it out) would get tiresome. I just don't see the point of a split forum. Seems that having some FAQs attached to the top of the forum would be enough. Like what NGC does on their forum.

US coins are US coins regardless of the date. I know, and deal with a few Classic dealers who feel this is not the case. I figure it is their loss. David Hall and David Lawrence are two dealers who have enough moxie to deal in both. I wouldn't want to see the forums split, I am interested in all US coinage. mdwoods

There's no need to split the forum. What brought that on?

New collectors, please educate yourself before spending money on coins; there are people who believe that using numismatic knowledge to rip the naïve is what this hobby is all about.

I'll miss all the great modern dealers and collectors. I'd go visit once in a while though.

  • COINS ARE COINS there is no need for a change. If the subject line has no interest to you pass it by and move on. I'm sure there are quite a few members who enjoy collecting both classics and moderns. Just my opinion!!!!!!!!!!!!
