Different type of slab

I picked this up today - it "looked" like an older slab - does anyone have any information on it? Is it a private issue? How old?

Thanks!

Frank

Private issue from a bullion company using ACG's holder during the late 1980s.
Change that we can believe in is that change which is 90% silver.

Dog97 - there's no ACG logo on the slab - did this come later?

It's ACG's holder but Blanchard was licensed to use so it doesn't actually have ACG on the holder. Sorry for the confusion, Frank.

Actually the slab was DESIGNED by ACG for Blanchard. Blanchard was the only company to every use that particular slab shell. These came out in the late 80's. Blanchard is still around but is no longer slabbing coins. They are mainly a bullion promoter, especially gold. I have seen both gold and silver coins in Blanchard slabs. They also produced some "sample" slabs using early 60's proof cents and nickels.

The eagle's breast looks smooth. Is it an AU?
