Yes, but I need to play with the lighting. What type of bulbs do you use, and how do you disfuse them? Is disfuse the right term.image

  • Madmarty,
Please explain what and how you are capturing these images. Camera, focal length, lighting, etc. I have take regular pix for years and can't come close to doing really good digital images despite having a 3.5pix camera.
    thanks

    Camera: Olympus X2020 2.1 Megapixel
Lens: had to buy a Macro Lens for the camera
Focal length: With the macro lens about 4 to 5 inches above the object.
I set the camera for 200 speed.
Lighting: I just got a Testrite copy stand with 4 lights (I have 75 watt reveal bulbs in there right now)

    Steps:

    Marty,

I use GE Reveal bulbs; up to three with various wattages. Mounted in those desk lamp thingies so I can move them around:

    Marty -

Playing with the lights is good. You'll figure it out - but using a variety of the GE Reveals works nicely.
On proofs, I use a 60 or 75 watt up high, and to the side, then one or two 40-watts low and oblique.

Obviously, business strikes, toned, and copper are different. You have to play with it. (just don't go BLIND) imageimage

edit: So Russ posts while I'm writing this...image
