Yes, in the current market, which is strong for early dollars, a solid, unimpaired, nice looking fine 1803 dollar could bring at least $ 900, probably more.
It's very difficult to offer a better valuation on a coin without a much better description or even a nice image. According to greysheet, the bid/ask spread for a F12 coin is 775/850. But, the spread is actually greater depending on a ranger of factors:
1. Slabbed by one of the big three? 2. Is it thoroughly original? 3. Is it generally problem-free? 4. Is it a better variety?
Off the cuff, however, I would say that $900 is in the ballpark...
Mihai also emailed me images of the piece and I told him that it was a counterfeit from what I could see. It also appeared to be corroded or meant to look corroded.
