Anybody know what this auction is about. Seller has a lot of feedback, but the auction seems odd to me.

    Yeah its a rip off. Let me count the ways, 1 - Private auction, 2 - with a relatively low feedback seller 3 - selling a high cost cards 4 - who accepts only money orders 5 - no picturee of card 6- not a PSA graded CArd (or any identified 3rd party grading comany identified at all. How many red flags does this guy need to wave in front of you before you figure out he is going to take your $$ and disappear.

    Yes -- it's extremely odd. I don't even think the card is graded.

    Here's today's math lesson:

    No scan + private auction + no credible 3rd party assigned grade = Avoid this auction like the plague!

    There is NO way that is PSA graded. If it was, it would be in the possesion of another collector most likely.

    Did anyone email him about the cert#?

    Most likely a 50K+ card.

    This auction is a black hole into which some dope is going to pour $$ and then cry when he gets ripped off.

    *****I just checked the Pop report and there is 1 PSA 10 out there. but, I'll bet serious $$ that this seller is not the person in possession of that card.

    Notice that all of his feedback is either private or an invalid item. Someone has figured out here how to ramp up their feedback and then use it to try to dupe someone. After how many calls it took to get EBAY to take off that Campanella auction (see my prior post) I wonder if it is worth it here. Maybe EBAY would be interested in knowing how this guy ramps his feedback.
    Collector of baseball PSA sets from the 1970's & hockey rookie cards; big New York Rangers fan (particularly now that they are sleeping with the enemy with Holik and Kaspiritus). Also starting to collect 53 Bowman Color as I think they are the most beautiful cards I have seen.

    That was heroic work I might add. I've dealt with the unwashed masses at E-Bay and they are NOT easy to convince of anything.

    Well. . .taking a quick look at the pop report tells me there is only one PSA10 Rose RC in existance.
    It's pretty safe to say this guy doesn't have it.

    PC are you really the bidder on the "Rose 10". Someone has bid on this auction. If so, why? Do you think this guy will actually deliver a card to you, much less a GEM 10 Rose Rookie?

    I know who the owner of the 1/1 1963 Topps Pete Rose PSA 10 GEM MINT baseball card is. It is safe to say that it is not the seller in this auction.

    There have only been two collectors who have owned that PSA 10 card in the last five years.
    I am actively buying MIKE SCHMIDT gem mint baseball cards. Also looking for any 19th century cabinets of Philadephia Nationals. Please PM with additional details.

    Well, since the other auctions are graded by GEM SPORTS, it's safe to say the Rose is also graded by them. That makes me feel a whole lot better...not!

    I know who the collector is as well who owns the Rose 10. I doubt he sold it.

    Did any of you read his feedback? One of the complaints state that the seller and gem sports have the same ip address. Sounds kinda like the AAA grading deal. Is this card a magazine page? lol
    Always looking for pre 1990 rookies and stars, pre 1970 baseball (all) and HOF game used.

    Let's assume that gem-sports is the 4th best grading company. Would you want your high dollar vintage star cards graded by anything less than the best (i.e. #1 grading company). That would be like taking your vehicle in for a major service and requesting that the 4th best mechanic do the work. image


    The seller has basically admitted that he's submitted his cards to an inferior 3rd party grading company. That should tell you something is wrong with the card (or it has been altered to hide what is wrong with it).

    The seller did not even answer me - maybe this is the same guy that was "selling" my 53 9 Campanella, so he is afraid to answer.

    I am actually going to bid on his least expensive auction as well as the Rose in order to force his hand on his guarantee to refund my money on the Rose and since I know that we/my company has the enforcement ability to punish losers like this guy.

    Everybody wish me luck, since I will be laying some cash on the line in order to prove a point.

    I will use my Centurion card to fund the Rose acquisition, that way I can get them involved as well.
