The population reports indicate a 1942 Type 1 Proof has just been made in PR68 -- the first one. Between this and the relatively new unique 1941 in PR68, some higher quality coins are either coming out of the woodwork, or are being reevaluated. For all the talk about over-tightness, these developments can cause just as much concern. In any event, if you have it, please PM me.

i have asserted in the past that as the generation which logically would own some of the 1936-1942 proof sets passes on, some wonderful coins will surface. there is no reason to believe there aren't cameos included, though the number is probably small due to the limited mintage.

I think a lot of folks just never gave proof Jefferson nickels any attention. Maybe they are coming around now that they know BNE is looking for some 68s!!!
