Least expensive way to get 20 modern coins graded.

Hello all. I have never had a coin graded. I am currently a silver member with PCGS and their rates are $12.00 per modern coin. If I want a whole batch done, say of 2003 Silver Eagles is there a pricebreak? Is it worth having them graded at all? On PCGS? ANACS? NGC? What name pulls the most weight on reselling the slabbed coin on Ebay?

I have always felt that PCGS was the most prestigious and would command the best return. Now I see all these flames about PCGS. Didn't catch the story, but see the flames nonetheless.

All advice is greatly appreciated.

PCGS is the best in many peoples book including myself. The flames have always been here and other places when something dosen't go right. They just have been more pronounced lately.

Ignore the PCGS flames. PCGS remains the leader and dominates the slab business. David Hall is also a visionary in the biz.

As for slabbing moderns cheaply? Don't buy them raw! Buy them already slabbed on ebay where you will find tons of people trying to unload their mistakes.

If you're just looking for the least expensive plastic, ANACS will slab moderns for $7 apiece. It's their economy service, however, so be prepared to wait two or three months until your coins come back. But it is cheap...

PCGS has a bulk submission service but for high grade coins like SAE's from a roll the cheapest way is to use the modern submission as a member for $10 a coin. PCGS, for coins that grade over MS67 on the bulk service, charges $12 a coin but only $10 with the modern service.

Check prices of those on eBay first. I suspect they will not be worth your time unless you are doing them in bulk (at a discounted rate) and/or hoping to catch a winning MS70 lottery ticket.
