Nothing to lose

Since I have just about every single 80T card in 8 or better, minus hitting the stone wall in looking for the final 65, I've done a few things to keep myself busy until those last few cards pop up to finish up.

First off, when upgrades are available (and what little $ is left) if I can swing it I'll upgrade that 8, or set my price and maybe win that 10 if I can just to keep some sort of progress going for this set.

However, right now, while these upgrades are in transit to me a couple other things have occured with NEW Team Sets for 80T cards which I guess is something to take advantage of while searching for the remaining cards in the set I'm actually working on.

The new 80 Phillies set has popped up a couple weeks ago thanks to 1420 Sports and when it came up I figured "what the hell," list my cards in the set for kicks. To even my surprise it's a 100% complete set and with about 4 upgrades it's GPA will be 9 or 9.01.

Next,JeffVN requests a 1980 Reds Team set.And once again I have nothing to lose, so I list my cards in that set and BOOM! 96.15% complete, with a GPA of 8.91.Here again, 4 upgrades required in order to boost the GPA to slightly over 9 and only 1 card needed in order to be 100% complete.

So here it is - 2 new sets - one complete at 100% and another is one card away from 100% complete which was pretty fun to do in the down time here while in search of the remaining 65.

Since there was nothing to lose, I'd like to thank Neil and Jeff for keeping me busy while things are slow. image

My pleasure Robimage, you are great to deal with as are many on this board. Good luck with the final 65 - I know you will find them.

  • No problem. Only problem is that you've surpassed MY 1980 reds set (73.08% but my Grade Average kicks butt - 9.16) I hope I'm number two on the set I requested.image

Jeff,as I'm adding cards I'm undecided which Red I like better. The Phillies and the Reds colors are attractive on each card but I don't know which is my favorite.Seems like Cinci had a pretty big pitching staff that season too.

BTW- Thank you 1420,you are one of the good guys! image
