My goal was to assemble an early commem type set in 1st generation PCGS holders. I was cruising along very nicely but I think the old rattlers are beginning to dry up. But I still managed to get a bunch of them together. I even bought some in a lesser grade than I already had because they were in the rattler. I sold the others and that funded more. A few guys on the forum here can attest to the quality I was parting with. But I just cant resist the old rattlers...is this a sickness?

<< <i>And you told me you were only buying them in the old "rattler" slabs >>
Normally I do. As a matter of fact, almost two thirds of my type set are in the old rattlers. I just couldn't resist this one.

Mine too. This one and the Gettysburg....Oh yeah, the Antietam...and lets not forget the Bay Bridge, or the California. Aww hell, I love them all!

<< <i>That does look very nice! At one time I thought about collecting all the US coins with ships on them. mike >>
That's another set I'm working on. I'm just not as focused on it as I am my commem type set.
I'm down to the biggies now...the Hawaiian, Vancouver, Hudson, Pan-Pac, Isabella...sheesh, big dough.
Cheers,
Bob
Urge to work on commem set...rising.
Maybe it's time to dust them off and pick up a few more.
Cheers,
