Unusual Coin Finds

Finding a few of pre-1964 dimes and quarters, Frankies, JFK halves, in change is actually what got me interested in coin collecting (even though I don't collect those particular coins now).
A couple of years ago, my mother came across a 1733 Dutch Gulden in a cardboard box that was about to be thrown away. I don't think it's worth very much, especially considering it has a hole in it, but I thought it was pretty cool anyway.

What's the most interesting, unusual, or valuable coin you have ever found (not purchased)?

I found a 1982 5c with a nice cud from about 9-11... cost me, well, I had to bend down to pick it up (but alas, I was younger then, so I wa not nearly as far from the ground image)

The coolest I've found was 5 silver half dollars when I was 15 working at a convenient store. It really fueled it. Some other cool coins came to the store (I saw a walker and franklin) but the clerks wouldn't let me get them. My brother got a mercury dime in the early 80s. I have a 2000 dime with a grease fill that makes it look like 200. Can't think of any others, though.

I received a 1920-S AU58 Mercury Dime in change from a liquor store last year. About 6 years ago, got a complete set of BU silver "war" nickels from a different liquor store. I now have 3 different liquor stores that call me when they find an old coin. Great source for old coins, especially silver, from circulation.

Got a 1950's Silver Certificate when I was working at an amusement park once. Also found a 1909 XF Swiss Rappen in change once (about the same size as a dime).

Oh yeah, I remember getting a 1930 $10 bill. Back in 1988 or so. The coin store guy said it wasn't worth anything so I spent it... I was poor in those days. image
