Is Lucy the only cool coin chick out there??

I just don't understand where are all the ladies in this field? Why the imbalance??? Numismatics is about history, romance, mystery, art....should it not appeal to more ladies? My husband loves my coins, and would never dream of telling me not to buy a coin " I just had to have". How many wives really support your quest, and how many make you go on stealth buying missions? Just curious......image

    No way to tell how many of the ladies behind the counters are collectors and how many are just collector/dealer's wives, but leaving them aside, I saw less than 10% feminine participation at the Long Beach Show.image

    I share my acquisitions with my beautiful bride of 47+ years, just fudge a mite on the cost!image

    My better half likes coins, but not as fanatical as myself. especially loves frosted proofs.
    I'm trying to teach her as much as needed if she ever had to deal with the collection on her own.
    I'd probably have her contact that Hep kitty for help with the Franklin portion.
    Today's mighty oak is just yesterday's nut that held its ground.

    I went to a local show on Sunday (about 30 tables). One dealer asked to help my boyfriend

    (who was standing behind me) and looked past me. He looked really surprised when he found out

    I was the collector! I love to shake up people's preconceived notions image To give him the benefit of

    the doubt though, who really expects a 27 year old GIRL to be interested in coins? Shake, shake!

    I hear you! I'm 31, and it fools them every time!!!!! Clevege and cash usually takes over for them....just got to laugh at that! When they find out I can brew a mean batch of beer, and actually understand sports it is just too much! Coin chicks rule....hands down. Perfect examples are found right here.image

    I learned to brew on a large scale for a micro brewery in central Mass while I was going to grad school. I tended bar, and made nice wioth the brew guys...they let me play one day, and I got hooked. I learned the entire process, and fell in love with the craft. Decided not to marry the guy....but he taught me the love of a good stout and the grace of a dessert porter! I'd like to learn to make brandy, like they did in the old days with fresh fruit.
    In case you guys were starting to wonder...yes, I fish, no, I don't hunt bambi, and I really am I girl!!!!

    I think coin collecting chicks are way cool!!!

    I happen to be married to one. She likes some circ wheaties and has a danco album of kennedys and has a few other circ silver coins also my favorite prooflike silver dollar that i gave her a number of years ago for a birthday present. She also collects world coins with a special liking for Isreal's coinage.

    If a dealer ignores you because you don't look rich or are not male then buy something at the dealer next to him at a show, but not from him.
    The President claims he didn't lie about taxes for those earning less then $250,000 a year with public mandated health insurance yet his own justice department has said they will use the right of the government to tax when the states appeals go to court.
