I think I got stiffed

I won a 1/20 oz kangeroo on ebay I mailed out the the check for 25$ on the 13th of february. The check was cashed on the 27 of February. I contacted my bank on the 28 to see if this check had cleared (this was before I even knew it cleared). The answer was yes it cleared yesterday. Ok cool Forward to March 6 guess what no coin. So I email the seller and ask where the coin was at he told me I had to wait 10 days for the check to clear. Well I told him I know the check cleared on the 27 of February because I had contacted my bank and they said it had cleared. I emailed him back and told him I wasent going to wait another 14 days for this coin. I told him I had better have it in my hands by the 12th of February(this is more time then I shouhld be giving him) If he dosent have it tell me refund me the money and we can call it a wash. Heck I would neg him.

It just seams to me that he dosent have this coin yet and that he is stalling for time to find one and to get it and send it to me. Or am i just being to impatient with him??

You may want to be a bit more patient and give a couple more days before getting too worried.

Mailed Check 13 Feb
Allow three days (plus Sunday & Holiday) for check to arrive ==>18 Feb
Allow 10 Days days to clear==>28 Feb
If it mailed the 1st, normal arrival would be the 5th (Don't forget Sunday)

Also, banks do not notify people when deposits clear. I've asked my bank about this... they are not notified either when it clears... only when a chack bounces. I've had a check come back well after my 7-day wait.

He said the earliest he would mail it would be the 12 this is way outside the 14 days. This is right at a month since I sent out the check. Dosent sound to good to me

His feedback indicates he is a real slow shipper, especially with personal checks. I wouldn't worry about it. I'm sure you'll get your coin soon.

A little patience is good for the heart.

Just because it cleared your bank does not mean that the sellers bank has cleared the check yet.

Again, This is eBay. I know you want it to treat you better than some multi-billion dollar operations but for the most part you are dealing with individuals that may or may not be the most professional sellers. This does not mean that they are not good people and will not complete the transaction.

I would not be very worried on a $25 purchase yet (maybe $250 or more) - give the mail another week.

Well when your umemployed 25$ is a hell of alot of money. Even if I had a job I would still be worried about the money.

I have waited far longer (6 weeks) for a seller who had far more of my money ($1050) for a bullion purchase on ebay.

Look, coin collecting is a hobby. You do this with your extra money for the enjoyment. You don't do it with the rent money.

You should not be so impatient. Some sellers are just slow, especially when you send checks. They don't just sit around constantly checking the bank to see if your check has cleared so they can run down to the post office and mail your coin right than. You demanding that you have better have the coin by 12th is rude. Most new eBayers are rude impatient & demanding then they chill out after a while.

Sorry for slowness but best to wait. I avoid leaving negative feedback for fear of retaliation. I think coin will come & just don't deal with him again...maybe a neutral feedback for a warning of slow shipper. As long as he replies to your emails, there is hope.
