I was looking over ebay for some Roosevelts and came across this one. Looked nice until I saw the shipping. Then I

My guess is that it is a typo.

  • Could be priority mail.

Oh well, who am I kidding. Takes gas to go to the post office, and gas prices are going up!

David Hall is $6.50 on everything. The shipping is super fast and the trick is too combine your lots.
    Good luck.

  • Actually, they've always sent mine priority insured registered (usually about $8 or so cost at the post office for them). Not a bad deal for $6.50

I just sent a 55-S dime I sold for $250 to the winner REGISTERED for $8 and I charged him $5. I don't see any problem with the $6.50 charged assuming the coin cost was in that range. If you people really want to complain try some of the auction houses that charge 20%....

As it is, just factor in the postage into your bid....no big deal.

*** Please note the coin pictured is a sample of this coin in our inventory. You will receive a gorgeous gem.

That is a Sample photo, not the actual coin you win. The winner gets a nice Gem!

I've paid worse. I just bought a $43 MS67 Rosy and the sellers shipping was $5 + $3 insurance! $8 for something that costs under $2. Now that's shipping abuse. Ebay seller id = gotnoys. I paid it as I knew I was going to but also let the seller know it was not a positive....and my feedback may also reflect that feeling - like "watch out for excessive shipping charges".......or not.

if it's a typo then he typoed it twice - in the listing and the shipping info.

  • If the full costs of shipping are stated on the item page when the auction begins, it's simply not appropriate to complain about shipping in a feedback comment. There should be a rule against leaving that sort of feedback, but I don't like rules either...

There are plenty of sellers who ship every item they sell via UPS instead of the USPS, regardless of category - heck, this is even encouraged by eBay!! While everyone knows that a dime can be mailed for 37 cents, everyone knows it can't be sent via UPS for that amount, and a complaint about that is not fair.

On the other hand, if a stated shipping charge is outrageous and is obviously not legitimate, a complaint for an investigation should be filed with eBay's SafeHarbor immediately upon discovery, before auction end, and also should not be reflected in feedback if one chooses to bid. The necessary penalty is administered by eBay, not by impatient bidders leaving feedback.

I live a few miles from DH, so arrange to have me pick up your purchase and mail it to you for 37¢. image

Redhott, if your comments are directed at my post, please reread my post. First, I did say I knew the shipping chrage PRIOR to bidding - no fault to the bidder. Second, I simply said my feedback MIGHT note excessive shipping charges - please do not infer that means Negative feedback. I have no problem leaving Positive feedback and still stating excessive shipping charges. I just don't like paying a 300% markup for shipping. When I ship, I charge actual and I'm proud I do. I see others abusing that "fee" for profit and it just ticks me off.

If your comments aren't relative to my post, don't worry about my little tantrum above........<grin>.
