Selling high grade moderns couldn't be easier.

Late last night I posted a thread about my submission of State Quarters to PCGS. I was lucky, yes lucky, enough to garner 5 MS69s, nearly 60 MS68s, and probably 25 67s. With the exception of one 69, I sold nearly 100 coins to Wondercoin in a deal which got me prices I was very pleased with. I don't think some dealers realize just how hot high grade moderns are. Just look at how the Registry has grown and continues to grow. Yes I know, there are tons of 67s and 68s, but at least everyone can own a very nice coin for a reasonable price. Thank you PCGS for the grades, and thank you Mitch for the EASY deal. This good fortune will allow me to donate quite a few nice MS66 coins to Jeremys next Charity auction. Okay, I'll shut up now. mdwoods

Wow, a 100 modern coin lot to Wondercoin, including 4 MS69s. Quite a nice payoff. PCGS seems to only be competent in grading moderns. Everything else, they seem to suck at.

I guess this means I'm having another auction image

OK- give it a little time... and we'll have to figure out a charity image

Curious about how many nicks/ticks do the 68's get away with? I know the 67's can have 2-3 non major nicks/ticks.Thanks image

The funny thing is PCGS grades the state quarters differently then the regular issues. Ask some major dealers in these coins.

Most of the 68s I have seen have 1 minor mark in a non focal area that you can see with the naked eye. Or maybe 2 tiny marks in non focal areas.

Mark: Thanks. Always a pleasure to deal with you. And, a freshly made wonderfully toned 58(d) Franklin Half in PCGS-MS67FBL was slabbed today and offered to me and you have first shot on that coin as well (and a ton of spending money image )

We may be doing more business next week and you might need a new signature line image Wondercoin.

    Mark,

I take back my comment I made when you first sent the coins in and said it was going to be a wonder group. I told you to stop attacking windmills like Don Quixote. You were right on. I bow down to you. You are "The Man!!!" Jay
