1926 Oregon-comments please

Here's another raw Ebay coin that I took a chance on. I don't care for the toning, but the strike looks pretty good to my eye. Any guesses on the grade or comments in general.

Actually, I kind of like it. So many of these have been dipped out, it is nice to find one in original shape.

i would need to see the coin in person

but a guesstimate just from the scan the overall eye appeal to me is negative

    hey blackhawk

contrary to K6AZ said, that coin looks overdipped to the point of no luster. though the details may merit MS63, absent luster it would be bodybagged for cleaning.

  • Great design... for a US coin.
  • You should ask Laura for her opinion and the let David tell her how bad of a grader she is!!!

    Nice Coin though!!

I have to plead ignorance about the argument threads. I try not to read them if I can help it.

Michael...I agree with you that the toning on this coin is a negative (I don't care for the darker area in the upper left obverse). If it does have decent lustre, I may see if it can be "curated". If it looks flat, I'll probably send it back. I've had pretty good luck with the coins from this seller. They all look dull in the scans, but the ones that I've gotten have had decent surfaces.

Here's another from the same seller.
