My New Baby Buffalo

Thanks to Pinnacle-Rarities I picked up a beautiful 1913 Type 1 Buffalo in PCGS PR67. That just leaves one more piece to finish my 20th Century Proof Type set (a proof Morgan).

Cheers

Greg

  • Very nice. I would bet that in person the colors are much more vivid.
  • I love it!! It sure would be a great match for my icon

    Stunning.

What keeps us from minting beautiful coins like this today?

Officially number one. But of course, High Desert has not registered his set in this catagory yetimage.

The color is nicer than the scan. The gold is a little deeper, with some purple on the obverse.

  • Greg,

That's a beautiful Buffalo, even if it is a nasty proof. image

    Congrats!

Are you going to try to find a nice toned Morgan proof?

    Supercoin:

I would love to find a beautiful proof Morgan either toned or white of any reasonable grade. So far, I have not found a nice PCGS example. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Looks like Zerbe has them allimage

Great looking Buffalo, Greg. I am at a standstill with the PR Morgans.
They are nowhere to be found. I only had a lead on one Morgan in the past four months, at the Superior Auction, but somebody bid almost double what I thought the coin would go for. I am looking high and low, so if I find one that fits your set along the way, I will definitely e-mail you. I was told by a dealer several months ago that there are several people putting together high end PR Morgan Sets.
They are not on the Registry yet, but whoever they are, they are making it hard for me to finish my set. Patience is a virtue, but my virtues don't include patience.imageimage
