Hey Mercury Dime People--You don't see one of these everyday!

It is not mine for sale nor do I know the seller, or have any connection with the sell--It just isn't everyday when you find a FULL BAND 1945 Mercury Dime....Oh--I'm not bidding either.

  • There nice, but I'm not going to spend thousands of dollars on a common date merc just because the little bands are seperated, when a high grade NSB of the same date is dirt cheap. And will count the same in value in my set.

  • DImetime,
Actually the fsb dimes get a 5pt bonus in the set
    TIm
LOOKING FOR 1931-s merc that is nice for the grade and fb
  • Tim, How do you find that value? All I can find is that a MS67 is equal to an MS65FB in points in the rule sheet. Am I missing it somewhere. And yes, sooner or later I'll have to add one to get my set to all FB ratings, but for now, I'm upgrading my others. Let me know where you found the valuation formula.

  • Dennis, I didn't mean to sound offensive. It's just a coin I still have trouble paying those premiums for. And I look all the time, especially for the right 16-d in 65FB. John

    Dimetime,
You can find the bonuses on the screen when you go into the Mercury dime sets. There is a link above the list of coins. It says something like click here to see bonuses.

  • Thanks Tony, I can honestly say I've never clicked on that link before. That'll really help on future buy considerations. I only looked in the rules where it compares a 67 to a 65FB as the same. John

  • John,
I didnt take any offense to that statement at all, I understand totally. It will probably be the last of the FB I will have to upgrade to! I just hope that Tim will hang on that long..imageimage (please--I am on my knees praying I can get the one he has one day) LOL

  • I have made contact with the seller and I am so tempted to throw out the $2500 for it. That is actually the 2nd 63FB I've seen on Ebay in the last 6 months. The last one didn't sell for the reserve of i believe $2750. I just don't know how I would explain the missing $2500 to the wife.
