A new slabbing idea that might just work.....

How about this: PCGS (or anyone else for that matter) encapsulates coins WITHOUT ANY GRADE. The purpose would be for authentication & detection of any doctoring problems and the slabbing preservation of the coin. Obviously dealers & collectors can bargain & debate the grade themselves, but it sure would be nice to have a collection of nice slabbed coins with eye appeal as the #1 factor & not the number on the insert!

Great transactions with oih82w8, JasonGaming, Moose1913.

  • They're already doing that.

Most people don't bother with it though. They'd rather have the full shabang.

Better than that, you could include the grade of the coin with the submission for them! This way they would get it right every time. The fees will be 10% of the value of the coin in the grade you tell them to assign, paid in cash, up front!

  • ACG already allows for suggested grades. I keep saying that "it looks like a 71 to me" but no luck yet!!
