I bought my first coin today off Ebay. This will be the start of my first set of Slabed coins. What you think did I do a good job for a newbie?

As a budding Roosie fan, I think it looks like a great coin from the picture. The price isn't bad, either, just a bit more than the actual cost of certification. Although it's never possible to truly tell beauty from a picture, the coin looks as though it is truly stunning!

Way to go, Gary ... welcome. Be patient and if you work eBay and other selling forums, a bit, you will find a lot of bargains to be had.

And, Dave ... I very much resent the implication I have a problem merely because I have bought/made 187 PCGS slabs -- including, oh my gosh ... 131 Jeff proofs -- since last May. Excluding the current submission, of course .. wait a minute ... I am deeply sick, upon retrospect. Three sets on the front page of 1938-64 proof Jeffs? But, at least I have the condolence of knowing I am comparatively sane compared to the ilk of Russ.

Wow, great price, and from my birth year too! (My birthday's tomorrow, Mar. 4th, so that would make a nice present ) Working on a set? I think high grade proof or mint state Roosevelt dimes are two of the most underrated sets out there, and have much room for future appreciation. Plus, the Roosevelt dime reverse has to be one of the best designs circulating today.

This seller isn't doing much ACG these days; seems to have switched mostly to NTC. ACG was probably grading his stuff too conservatively.
