1981 Type 1/2 question. Lots of pictures!

I'm still thring to figure out the Type 1/ Tupe 2 thing. Got a sealed 5 pack of 1981 Proof Sets in today. My opinion is that the Jefferson is a Type 2, but all the rest are Type 1. The first 6 pictures are one of the mint sets. The next 4 are the Nickels from the other 4 proof sets, and the last one if from a Kennedy in the proof sets.

Numbers 2, 5, 7, 8, 9, and 10 look to be the clear "S" variety or type 2. Number 7 almost looks like it's been repunched!

What does everyone else think?

The serifs that have bulbs and do not touch are type 2!

I agree with the clear S, I don't see the repunched mm though (for what that's worth).

Leo send me pictures of Type 1s and 2s, it seem on the 81s the Type 1s have a small spike on the lower serifs. On the 1st 6 pictures (all in one proof set) #1, #3, #4 and #6 are type 1s and #2 (the Kennedy) and #5 (the Jefferson) are Type 2s. Correct??

Do you see the ones that look drilled out? If they look drilled out, and not carved, theyre type 1. The centers should be flat! Im talking 81 here, you would have to be blind to have a problem with the 79!
