A gorgeous Pilgrim i don't own anymore

Sorry, the images are not as good as i've come to be able to produce. The coin looks better than the images. Pilgrims rarely come with good color. But here's a gorgeous one with uncommon red toning.

Yep, that is the one I own.

It's the coin that helped me decide what I wanted to collect. At the time I saw it I was selling off my collection (mainly errors and varieties) after basically being out of the hobby for a while. I saw it, fell in love with it and decided to put together a set of toned commems. Two years later I'm still working on that set.

What I REALLY want is the 1921 that Adrian has to go with this one. I can't believe it sold for so cheap in the Heritage auction. Had their photo looked anything like the actual coin, I'd have bid much higher. Oh well, I guess everyone else would have bid higher on it too.... Still, I'm jealous. image

What did it go for in the Heritage auction?

It went for $1840 in the GA Signature Sale in August of 2001 (Lot 8572). I believe I was the underbidder.

Last I heard it was for sale by Larry Shepherd for $7000.
