Hope I win this auction!!

It's a 39-S FB that I've been searching for forever in a grade that I can afford, and it's white to boot! Ebay link Hope I'm not bidding against anyone here because I WANT THAT COIN!!! Oh sorry, don't know what got over me there.image There is still six and a half days left, AAUUGGHHH! Watch me get sniped at the last 5 seconds. Oh the torment and anxiety of coin collection, and to think, some people have to jump out of airplanes just to get a thrill.

That is a date I need to, but you saw it first, so I'll try to keep my finger off the bid buttonimage

I'd bet it'll get higher than grey sheet.

    Good luck!

  • I have a couple price references but none of those colored sheets ya'll always talk about. What is grey and what is it listed at? This auction come at the right time to, just got a nice little bonus at the job( one weeks pay) too bad Uncle Sam took so much.

Mmmmm, Ahaaaa, Mmmm, darn, that is the only one I need to finish my short set and I already have it on my watch list and was planning on bidding. Well, luckily, I have a raw one currently at PCGS to be graded, so I will lay off this one and wait to see what I get back from PCGS. I'm hoping it makes 65FB, maybe even 66 on a good day. If the bidding goes higher than you want to pay, let me know, I may want to step in.

LOOKING FOR 1931-s merc that is nice for the grade and fb

Alot of these go over grey sheet but not all. I see the coins go higher when the next step is a jump. Just last weekend at a coin show, I paid $198 for an MS65 1931-S. The grey sheet on that one is 160/180.

If you want 'em you have to over pay!

  • I wish I could find another for 500.00 as nice as mine...it would be put up! They are hard to find, it was as hard to find as a nice slabbed 26S...period.

A bit steep, if you compare it to the Greysheet, but the Greysheet is probably too low on that coin, and many other Mercuries. I'd been watching it too, and I'm glad you won it. It is a tough date, and it looks like a very nice coin.

    Mercury1,

Congrats! It is a nice dime, and a danged hard to find one too. Take a stroll through the sets sometime and note how many sets are missing that dime! BTW, I think you bought it right, I figured it would go for $250.00+.

    Mercury1,

I had my sights on that 64FB 39S, in the end I opted for the pricier 65FB which I won in the Heritage sale. Its a super example, and yup Wayne your are correct - that is a difficult coin. Not impossible but quite difficult.

I almost gave up photo's, I just can't seem to get it right. One day when I'm old and gray, I'll have patience to read the instructions image
