If you think PCGS grades tough...

you should check out the EAC grading system. Now, they are tough. Rarely will a Large cent, in a big 3 Slab, grade as high when EAC grades it.

    Early American Coppers. They specialize in colonials, half and large cents. If you like those coins, it is a very worthwhile group to join.

    Then again, PCGS graded real tough back in 1986. Today I'll bet they are kicking themselves for stopping at MS/PF 70 rather than 71 or 72. They left money on the table by not going with a higher point system.image

    eac grades do not compete w/ commercial (pcgs) grades. they are 2 different grading standards, w/ different price guides for each.

    ie eac is not "tougher", they prices per grade are different from commercial prices.

    Other than the 7 EAC members, I don't know anyone who cares about their opinion on a coins grade. They usually try to be tight asses just to show the world how much of a tight ass they can be.

    Their grading system doers more harm than good.
