<< <i>Nice card, but SPAM nonetheless. Anyone here who was interested in your auction already knew about it I'm sure. >>
Sorry Lizard, I didn't realize it was against your rules. I have seen many other AUCTION posts. Look at the price. I am more than happy with that amount. I was just trying to maybe help anyone who is working on a 59 set.
Again I am sorry for trying to help fellow collectors and I assure all here it won't happen again.
I'm sorry. I really thought it was spam. I do think your post would have been more appropriate if it had been posted earlier this afternoon as a heads up, not 20 minutes before the auction closed. While this card may be in demand by the '59 set collectors, how many of them do you think are reading these posts right now? Again, it is a really nice card and, at an SMR of $60, you did really well. Congratulations!
There is a Buy/Sell/Trade (B/S/T) board, which is kids trading modern stuff that's usually not graded. It would be impossible to do anything serious there. There is a vintage trading board. There is no vintage B/S/T, but it makes sense that people would use the vintage trading board as a B/S/T, and they do. It's a little tenuous, and people sometimes complain about sell posts there, but it is the best place for general vintage sell posts.
This is the set registry board, which you'd think should have no B/S/T in it, but there are often some very directed B/S/T. People ask for various things, typically graded commons, and other people might note that a bunch of graded commons are closing on eBay. People who are here are probably trying to acquire vintage commons, and may have some to get rid of, so some spam of that nature is hard to get very upset about. Most of us would figure out if something big is happening, because I'm sure that we follow eBay avidly, but even so, I think it's not a big deal, and I think that most of the people here would agree. There is not so much traffic that a little spam will push anything important off the list, and most of the spam interests some of us. The idea of graded commons is often weird enough that people would call you insane if you posted this stuff elsewhere. This is a specialized board, where interest in weird stuff is a shared affliction.
Someone selling one star seems out of place here, but I wouldn't slam people for doing this, as long as there is not a lot of it happening, because there is some B/S/T happening here, and people might get confused about where they should post what.
I think people would have been less likely to complain if he'd said he had some 70's graded ending over the next few days, which he does.
To clarify: My post was directed to virtualizard (not Bruce Moreland). I don't have any problem with the post as long as it doesn't get double posted on both boards.
I like the idea of having a vintage PSA buy and sell board. It would be a great place to sell your extra PSA cards and look for ones you need without having to go through countless ungraded crap to find the good stuff. In the same way I would hate to go through countless buy and sell posts if you are just looking for chat posts. A couple is ok but if everyone did it, it would ruin this message board.
I've picked up items I've needed from just these kind of posts. I don't see it as SPAM or a problem. Look at the heading of the thread, and if it doesn't interest you, don't read it. Most people on this board (as well as the vintage board), usually contact each other directly when they have an item of interest. I only question the timing of Braves72078 post. I wish I could have bid on it.

Bill,
It would have been more appropriate to post this in the vintage trading forum. It would be warmly received over there.
Currently collecting.....your guess is as good as mine.
Sorry again, no offense meant.
