$30.00 JUST FOR A 1999 SILVER PROOF SET BOX (NO COINS)?

Can anyone tell me why an empty box for a 1999 SILVER PROOF SET would sell for this kind of money? I mean, it's at 30.00 with 4 days left and the whole set sold for 29.95 I believe. Any thoughts? And, this isn't the first such empty box I've seen sell for this kind of money. Just curious.

People want the set with everything... suppose you are going to sell a silver 1999 set... more than likely, you will get more than your $30 if you have the box, thus it is a hot item- on the other hand, if you are keeping the set, sell the box and make a relative fortune!

Yes Jeremy, I have several of these sets.....heck....maybe I'll sell the boxes and keep the sets :-).....no....I'll keep the whole thing.

Where is the original advertising literature from the US Mint (the print kind plus the internet kind) that has to accompany this package to make it TRULY COMPLETE????????????????????

The bidder can't say that the auction never mentioned "no coins". It's in the title and in the descritpion. Maybe someone's box is all messed up and they need a better looking one?

This set (with the coins) is going for crazy money. I finally had to cash in and sell one of my sets
last week.

It doesn't surprise me about the box though. With people selling the 4 non-quarters, I can
see people collecting these piecemeal.

The price for the box does seem a little nutty and tells me that the silver sets are overpriced.
