Is there much interest in mixed bags of Ikes?

I went to a coin shop today and the dealer has about 3 or 4 bags of 1000 each left. I did a quick search through and many of the dollars looked pretty nice, mostly MS with some nice AUs. He was asking $1150 for 1000 Ikes, just wondering if this was a good price or not.

  • You must live near Palo Alto - that was at the Coin Broker. I was there today, too - just buying a better loupe.

That was an excellent price. These wholesale as high as $1300 and that's without
any true mint state examples. It's probably the general public buying these rather
than newbies since one rarely sees them offered at shops or shows.

Buy 'em... I doubt you'd find any gem examples but you won't lose money at that price so you could search for free. And you might get lucky and find some 1972 Type 2 or something.
