All but 3 of my coins are going to auction

Hello.

Well, I walked about Long Beach yesterday and, after much hemming-and-hawing, decided it was time to part with my little stash. I went
over to Goldberg and signed them over. I kept the colorful $20 NGC 62 1923 Saint, a splotchily-colored '23 NGC 65 Peace and a cheap
circulated standing lib 25c.

How does the auction process work? I know about the commission/buyback fees.

Your coins are vaulted until ready to photograph or describe in the auction catalog. You get your seller's catalog about 2-3 weeks before the auction. You give reserves to the auction house about 1 week before the sale. Placing no reserves runs the risk that the coins might sell for substantially less that you might wish. The auction is usually held at a semi-fancy hotel. Lots of people show up to bid and eat good food, usually gone in 10 minutes. Man stands at podium and auctions off the coins. You are either happy or sad, when your coins sell. Wait 45 days after auction for check. You usually pick up coins that don't sell within a week of the auction.

    Barney,

Good luck with your coins. Read CAREFULLY everything Truthteller posted.

Did you come by my table while you were at the show? If you did, and I wasn't there, shame on me.image If you didn't, shame on you.imageimageimage
