How Many Attributes Can You Assign To A Coin?

For instance:
Here is a first year issue, MS63 1878 Morgan dollar with 7/5 tail feathers, DDO,
rainbow toned with mint bag textile dots and exhibiting (semi) proof-like surfaces.

It's one of my favorite coins.

Cool coin. A rather good photo. You can get a sense of what the coin looks like because there are other visual cues that are present
in the photo that help you to judge the accuracy of the colors of the coin.

The presence of the hand and the fact that it appears to be accurate in color (although it is under exposed, it's still the right color) assists
you in determining the accuracy of the coin's colors.

That's one of the reason why i often show the coin in the holder - if the holder or insert looks accurate in color, you can know the colors of
the coin are also probably accurate. (I say probably because it is actually possible to identify areas on an image and change just those
using a tool that i call the magic wand.)

Not sure how to answer your question, but, I could use a VAM 38 for my 7/8tf collection. If you are interested in disposing of it, to a good home, please, please let me know. image

  • That's a gorgeous coin.

Can't answer the question, they have lots of designations for Morgans at NGC and ANACS. It's a shame that PCGS is so lacking in the Morgan department.
    Got Morgan?
