It's great to see Mr. 1794 joining the forum, the copper god as he has been called. Have bought and sold some coins to each other over the years and he is a CLASS ACT........welcome. image

    Lakesamman, you are way too kind . I believe the term "copper god" is reserved for Mr. Blay! Anyway, thank you for the warm welcome. I just stumbled across the message boards last week and have found them very entertaining and educational as well. Hope you had a great time at the Long Beach Show. TomT.

    New collectors, please educate yourself before spending money on coins; there are people who believe that using numismatic knowledge to rip the naïve is what this hobby is all about.

    Tom - I mentioned the forum to Lakesammman about a year ago and he was kind of lukewarm about it, 'not really the forum type'. One year later he's got that cool custom variety .gif in his signature and posting away! With all its faults this place grows on you and is a nice way to stay connected to the hobby during the slow times.

    Wow! That looks like a relative! Lakesamm, I think you are doing exactly the right thing by sticking to gem full red business strike indian cents. Plus, you need to get started on a date set of full red late date large cents. The IHC proofs are hideous things and are better left to Shylock and BigMoose.
