Here is a new auction we should all "jump in" on the bidding.

    I wonder if the 53s is FBL?image
  • I wonder just what 'individually wrapped' means exactly. 547 halves is a lot of craft paper.image

Hey, what a clever way to sell junk silver. Nice try.

wouldn't that be something if this turned out to be the buy of the century and one scored some 53s's in fbl......... This auction is a joke... I am nearby, I should ask to see the items in person..... I think Claus should snipe it!

  • I think I'll Email the seller and ask if the coins are 'shiny' - that will help me formulate a more accurate bid.

I already e-mailed him asking him about his auction and he replied," Bite Me!".image

I now have him on my "blocked" e-mail list since my responce to that wasn't very nice!image

Claus, with an answer like that - you have left us hanging ->

just what did you ask or state? I remember a couple weeks back someone badmouthing
a seller and told us his email responses but did not state what he had said to get those
    responses, so I am curious.

I don't remember exactly what I asked him (I used the E-Bay ask seller a question and have no copy of the e-mail) but the gist of the question to him was if he really expected anyone to bid 2,000 plus dollars on his auction with no pictures, no feedback, etc. Do you think I might have burst his bubble; he might have had visions of sugar plums dancing in his head.
  • So you're a coin dealer and someone you've never seen before comes in and shows you this great collection. You take your usual shot and hope for the best. If you offer too much, they always get excited and leave, so you have to handle it just right. This deal is all silver, a so-called "precious metal," and the owner isn't inclined to let the collection go for your offer. Now, you can't raise it all of a sudden, or they get suspicious. You suggest you'll put it on eBay for them and save them the hassle of dealing with it. You ask the seller where they want the starting price and minimum price to be. After it doesn't sell, you tell him you had a call from someone who wants to buy it privately for the $2,300 minimum price. You write the check, you own it. You consign the whole deal to the next Heritage auction, slabbed by PCGS at Heritage's special volume rate, and the deal brings a zillion dollars.image

.....is that like the hotel bathrooms being sanitized for my protection?
