Is a toned proof penny worth any more?

Is a toned proof penny worth any more then the same penny of that year?? Its a 1972 in the original mint package!

You'll have to post some pics if you want an accurate answer. Also make sure that what you consider toning isn't haze. (i made that mistake when i first started i bought all the hazy Proof sets because i thought the coins were toned

Depends on what kind of toning it is... how attractive it is... and how much there is of it... But if it was a completely toned coin cover with attractive colors and pattern then yes it would be worth more.

I have no good way to get a picture of the coin but i will say this i am 99.9% sure its toned. It has diferent colors at diferet rings also it does not cover the hole thing. the color starts and moves down from the top and ends about 3/4 of the way to the bottom!

sounds like you have a nicely toned coin, price $2-4 (haze looks like a white cloud covering the surface)

sure , many people pay a lot more for the toning, as long as it is attractive, and has good eye appeal

If the grade is nice and the coin does looks very nice you could see it going for more say $20 but that is only if the grade will boil water.
