I like that nickel. I have one nice 1950D waiting at PCGS right now, too.
  • ANACS is deserving of a spot in the top three. Dork Karl is right they are the best for collectors. Also, they are a marketable piece of plastic, albeit slightly lower in price than the other two at times!image

I feel ANACS is a bit tougher on grading sometimes, the ASE might have hit a 68 at PCGS.
It is not exactly cheating, I prefer to consider it creative problem solving!!!

My opinion, based on only 4 coins I've sent to ANACS, is that while they may not be as market acceptable ...they grade truer to the ANA standard than to a "market standard"
  • I like ANACS because I am having the coins slabbed for me. PCGS is expensive at $30 a coin. At ANACS I can do 5 coins @ $15 and they are done in 5 days or less. That is why I like them. I like the small slab, but dont like that they dont fit with my other slabs in NGC boxes.

You can get a little box that fits ANACS slabs, either through ANACS, some board members and ebay.

    Nice submission!

  • Lori, Why do you feel you have to pay $30 at PCGS, whats wrong with the $15 economy submission, $10 on moderns?
You can fool man but you can't fool God! He knows why you do what you do!

I think Eagle sells ANACS boxes as well...they also do those certified coin pages/albums with little foam adapters for ANACS.

I think the key phrase in her post was "in 5 days or less." Different from PCGS's 50 days or more.

Lori, Amos press sells storage boxes specifically for ANACS holders. They are $6.95. Also, they sell snap together holders that are the same size as ANACS holders, so you can store your raw coins with your ANACS coins. Here is the page:

    Coin World Boxes and Holders
  • I know, whats the hurry? I am submitting on Sat, I will let you know when I get them back, last time I submitted at Long Beach I got a 19 day turnaround on economy!

  • No hurry, when you are a free silver member the fee is

    Silver Level (Pre-1965 U.S. coins) $30/coin
    30 business day turnaround.

    Silver Level (Post-1965 U.S. coins) $12/coin

That is what I was talking about with the price. I usually dont have post 1965 coins. This time I did.

  • Newest Addition to my Ugly Kennedys. Thought I would just reply to this thread instead of starting another.
