Superior Pre Long Beach Prices?

Where can I go to find out what the five awsome seated dimes in the Superior Pre-Long Beach sale ended up going for and whether they met the reserve? I can't seem to find anything at the Superior Web Site?

Thanks.
Go well.

Superior takes longer than anyone to get the prices realized listed on their web site. I am waiting also.

I look at their complete auctions on eBay. I don't have a link right now but if no one else posts it, I'll try to figure it out.

Until the Prices Realized comes out, the only that I've been able to find out prices is to do a tight searchon eBay since Superior did a live auction.

Can't believe the owner of those 5 neat seated dimes was selling them. He possibly has (or had) the finest collection of MS seated dimes ever assembled. As far as what special conditions and reserves were put on the pieces is anyone's guess.

I'd love to know how they made out and who purchased them if they sold.

    RR,

We can always ask the owner when we see him in Baltimore in 3 weeks! Or, I can always call him next week if you want me to... (I know him really well.)

I was kinda watching them...don't know about reserves but THINK the prices on the three CC dimes were as follows:

    1871-CC $140K plus juice
    1873-CC $140K plus juice
    1874-CC $120K plus juice

    Roadrunner,
Sorry. Can't help as I didn't attend the auction but I saw Steve Deeds (Superior) at the LB show yesterday and he seemed in a good mood. EVP has promised a one week answer. Superiors web postings are late and I have called before to find out what happened. They really are nice coins.

  • Everyone:

Thanks for the information and attempts at info. Since EVP knows the seller pretty well; I was kind of hoping that he might be able to tell us pretty quickly the price and whether those prices met the reserve.

I think they were all pop 1 coins....but I was really curious what the 1859-S went for. I think the coin is about 5 points higher than the second best known.....but it isn't a "CC"....so I wouldn't think that it would get the demand from the folks putting together the high grade "CC" collections.

I look forward to meeting this seller at the next LB show.

    Thanks again.
    Go well.

I just got a call from a buddy who is also a lurker here -- why he won't sign up and post himself is a real head-scratcher...

Anyway, he told me that the '56-S hammered at either 36K or 38K (sold), the '59-S hammered at 80K (I know the buyer), and the three CC's were buy-backs (he believes).

He got the info from a dealer whom we both know.

  • EVP:

Thanks for the info. I think the 59-S was a good buy...surprised the Seller let it go at that. I look forward to meeting the Seller some day soon and getting a chance to peruse his inventory in person.

    Go well.
