What ever happen to the Commemorative Buffalo?

Last year it seemed to be the rage. Now you have a hard time finding anyone
advertising them. Did the sizzle go out?

I did not buy one, but I never hear of them any more.

  • Tade,

I think most folks are just hanging on to the ones they have. My one example is in my collection (one of my favorites, like the Yellowstone commem I have). Since they aren't necessarily everywhere, I wouldn't consider selling mine.

There was HUGE demand over supply on that one. The 20 sets I bought the first day were gone (except for my one) immediately - but I think that collectors are sucking them out of the market, and not putting them out for sale too much now.
  • They are still alive and doing quite well. The Coin and Currency Set is selling in the neighborhood of 125$ to 130$ on E-Bay while the 2 coin set is strong at around 250$. Even the single Proof and MS coins are still hot...just do a search on E-Bay. They are selling readily.
  • ClausUrch,

How did you get eBay to post your ratings stats like that at the top of your auctions?

I dunno about the hard time -- there's 118 of 'em on eBay right now.

Me, I already got mine, so I'm a happy buffalo.
