A perfect MS 70 coin for the darkside

There is no grade on the holder and when I type in the cert number, it comes up with a 1972 Ike.

How do you look up a cert number in the darkside, or is it better not to ask?

The seller is full of crap. PCGS just slabbed this coin, no grade. The cert number does pull up an Ike, but PCGS has reused (on accident) cert numbers in the past. The coin wasn't graded, so the cert number probably means nothing.

I see the # is 619034.00/7810021 so I guess it doesn't have a grade.

This is an item that I class as a Novelty slab. (PCGS 6N6) It isn't a regular production slab so the serial numbers may not have an actual meaning. In some respects it is similar to a sample slab but they are NOT just given away but rather are sold by their promoters for a premium over what the coin would bring simply because of the holder promotion. In this case the promoter managed to get ahold of the first couple thousand coins struck for each denomination and had them slabbed with a special flag insert as being the first coins of the 21st century! In the case of the coin in the auction the 21st coin of the 21st century (of that denomination). Hmm after looking at the auction again something is amiss. All of these that I have seen before have been 2001 coins. This one claims to be a 2000. Either they did this for more than one year playing for both groups of people who can't agree when the millennium occured, or the date is wrong on the holder.

The promoter did the same thing with US coins using US gold eagles and their fractions with a US flag label. I haven't seen examples from other countries, but it would not surprise me if they exist.
