    Same for me. As I recall it was a PCGS VF30 with a flawless planchet. Was being sold by Julian. Are we talking about the same coin?

    Not the same coin. This one was NGC and it wasn't for sale. It was part of the dealer's private stash and he was kind enough to let me drool a little bit.image I think it was also a VF, but to be honest I didn't really look at the label!

    Andy from Angel Dee's let me hold an 1918/17 Standing Liberty in MS63FH. Don't remember the price, but it wasn't cheap.

    I held two chain cents, one in each hand. (The first on was pretty low grade I think G and the other I know was VF) That is I think my most expensive coin hold.

    1901S Barber Quarter. PCGS63 I think it was. Dealer wanted a little over $20,000 for it I think. As usual CRS has set in when trying to remember something.

    Probably a PR68 1895 Morgan. It was at my dealers, got to play with it for a whole day. At the 1996 ANA, Richard Snow showed me an MS65 1856 Flying Eagle and the finest 1873 Double Liberty Indian. Cline let me hold an MS65 (or so don't remember exactly) 1918/17 Standing Liberty, as well as some other jewels.

    PCGS MS65 and 66 3-leg 1937-D buffalo nickels... at my dealers shop... then $35k, now the 66 sold alone for $77k! I also got to see the guy with the briefcase of cash buy the coins image

    Mine was also a 3-legged buffalo that Laura (Legend) showed me at the FUN show. $78,000 I believe. My legs got a little shaky. I wonder if anyone will be able to hold her 1913 nickel and look at it up close? (HINT HINT) image

    This will sound dumb but I can't really remember what the coin was. It was either a 1943 copper cent or a 1944 "steelie". It was slabbed and I was at the dumb Ebay shindig in Columbus Ohio. Asking price was 100K.

    Previewed the Eliasberg collection in NY, including the 1913 5C piece. There were so many great rarities that you became immune to the value...it was overwhelming.

    I was about 6 inches from the display of the 1933 double eagle auctioned in NY last summer, but alas never got to hold it (or bid on it).

    i've held several unique coins (die varieties), but wouldn't qualify as "expensive" like, say, a 1804 dollar.

    I actually had a slab with a deep cameo proof gold eagle in my hand.

    I saw a 1913 Liberty Nickel, but it was in a display case and heavily guarded.

    If Legend Laura pipes up she might mention her 1913 Lib Nick.

    Nothing compared to what I've heard and will probably hear from others. All I've held was a nice mint state high relief 1907 double eagle. Nothing special, but it sure was purdy. I'd really like to get a hold of a Ex high relief 07 double eagle.

    the most expensive coin i ever held was an 1897 lib 20 gold p.c.g.s. proof 67 dcam [very pretty] but my favorite was a m.s. 64 1799 bust dollar that i almost sold everything i owned to aquire but was talked out of doing so [very bad decision] that coin was borderline 65 quality but the asking price in may of 2000 was 56,000.
    The President claims he didn't lie about taxes for those earning less then $250,000 a year with public mandated health insurance yet his own justice department has said they will use the right of the government to tax when the states appeals go to court.

    A number of years ago I purchased a Morgan Dollar from Larry Goldberg. It was a fairly common date

    80-s or 8l-s but it was a beautiful perfect coin. I paid 1500 dollars for it when such coins in gem were

    selling for 350 dollars. Well the coin graded MS-69 it auctioned for a then world record of 17,000.

    The interesting thing is that the coin resold 3 months later for almost 80,000 dollars. Such is the

    mystery of life. So close and yet so far. That was the most valuable coin I have ever owned or held

    in my little paws. Think how many jelly donutes I could have purchased with the extra money.image
