What are the spreads for selling at auction?

I'm trying to understand the economic dynamics of buying & selling at auction. I understand the buying part. If there is a buyer's premium of 15%, it goes to the house. But is there a discount to the seller below the hammer price? I think I saw somewhere that there is also a spread going the other way. Is that correct? I can't imagine losing 30% on a coin to turn it.
