<< <i>I love the Franklin series and have been buying them for over 35 years. I really like the idea of Franklin set building as this is an important series, yet it's relatively short, and still reasonably priced. I enjoy the idea of FBLs. I like the way the proofs look, especially the Cameos and Deep Cameos. In short, I'm a big fan.

In terms of the market, Franklins are somewhat slow now. They've been hot for quite a few years and they got hot long before the other 20th Century series. It seems logical to me that the market would back off a little. I think Franklins will stay slow this year, but I expect things to pick up in 2004 as this is a very popular series. Franklins just need a little rest.

I'm also a big fan of Ben Franklin the man...and all the other Founding Fathers for that matter. >>

See, he's a man of great insight and wisdom..... sigh........

  • Cool that Mr. Hall responded to my question. I love the series as well. Actually the only coin that I collect as a series. I didnt jump on the FBL bandwagon, and sometimes feel a tinge of regret that my whole set is not FBL. I do however, have very nice collectable, eye appealing coins, regardless of the FBL. I might slowly try upgrading some to FBL examples as the years go by, but with a family, it's tough. And, I do have a few that warrant a FBL review (that will save some money!)
I also want to say that I have a lot of respect for Frank and the Hepkitty, as well as the other big fans, for thier accomplishments in the series. Would be cool to meet some day and look at all our coins together.
