I saw that too and even put a bid in. Yes, it looks like the best MS-63 I've ever seen. MS-63's for sale are rare. I think that this will go for stong money.

goose, do you think that is a die chip above the right wing?
  • nwcsnwcs Posts: 13,386 ✭✭✭
    Sure is a nice coin!
  • goose3goose3 Posts: 11,471 ✭✭✭
    Looks like it is.
I also noticed what appears to be some die cracks through the A of AMERICA and the first 8 in the date.

I really like it but alas the chain cent killed my budget. I hope that one of you can win this one...............and then sell to me someday!image

Goose and all...are we looking at the same coin???

I see not a MS-63 coin but a clearly circulated one and an 1856 to boot.

That would be a hard coin to part with. I missed out on a nice broadstruck one a while back that went for around 1200 or so. Was a nice centered BS.
  • goose3 -- what do you think (that awesome) 1858 ms-63 will go for? $1k?

I would not be surprised to see it go for 800 or so.

Wow Goose, better strike than most 65s. I think that's a clash mark above the wing. Looks like it also has the outline of the wing along the inside lower portion of the wreath, part of it in the left loop of the ribbon.

Not sure why that's in a 63 holder! Would be fun to see in person.

Sight unseen, hard to tell....I'd be thinking 64 money if interested, though ebay bidders aren't big spenders - I'll guess $816.

Maybe it's just me, but do you guys not care about a seller's feedback when bidding on expensive coins? I read the feedback from that seller and I don't think I would have bid. image

Petescorner: That ok since if you were the seller you would not want to sell to me either!!

I am the only ebayer in the history of ebay to leave himself not just one negative feedback but TWO NEGSand a neutral!!

Take a look at my feedback if you don't believe me...
