Adobe Photoshop tip.....the step backward tool

When you are editing, massaging, changing...whatever you want to call it.....your raw images, sometimes you want to go back and undo some things.

Under "Edit" (top left) is a tool called step backward. It sequentially undoes your changes. Very helpful unless you're perfect.

  • Hey, Thanks. I am just learning how to use mine. I'm sure this tip will come in handy. Ken
  • If you have the History dialog open, you can see every change you made. You can go back to any point and zap all changes from that point on.

Adrian what version of Photoshop do you have? I have 7.0 and use the history menu all the time to go back to a previous state of editing.

I use Photoshop Elements. The step backward tool is one I use all the time. I may upgrade to the full version someday.

I also use the Image/resize/image size (or canvas size too), tool alot. Great way to keep all my ebay photos/scans the same size. Also for reducing pixel count to make the Jpeg file size smaller. I find that 72 Pixels/inch works good for the internet. Also great for making your forum icon the max size with ease.
