What's the scoop on auctions?

What's the scoop on auctions?
I see some great Buffalo nickels being offered in auction Lots on eBay. Is this a game for the big-money crowd only? What are the chances of winning...picking up a bargain? Have you ever won an "Auction"....eBay auctions excluded,of course? Twowood image

  • If you are referring to the pending Long Beach auctions where you have to register to bid on them, even though they are offered through eBay, those just use the sales "funnel" theory (i.e. the amount of action you get out is proportionately dependent on the larger amount that you put in). There are no true bargains to be had as most of the coins are very hot pop toppers and the "big guns" usually out shoot everyone to get them.

If you are referring to something else, maybe you can clarify.
    My eBay Items

I love Ike dollars and all other dollar series !!!

I also love Major Circulation Strike Type Sets, clad Washingtons ('65 to '98) and key date coins !!!!!

If ignorance is bliss, shouldn't we have more happy people ??
