What series and in what grade would you collect if you had $1,000 and had to complete it?

I recently completed a raw 64 coin set of Buffalo Nickels in VG-F for about $650 and had a blast doing it. To me, it was more fun and more rewarding than the MS slab set which I started way before, and currently have only about 1/3 complete.
If you had $1,000 to collect a complete set (no errors or varieties) which series and in which grade would you go for?
Answers taken very seriously, as I'm looking for my next "raw" set to go after!

Close to $1000 is a nice AU Peace dollar collection. Picking sliders would make it very attractive, and they are relatively cheap right now. If your leaning is to moderns, 65 Ikes would be do-able.

Russ, I know you have started to get into 2 cent pieces lately, have you come close to completing a set, or are you still early in the hunt?
Don, I'd also like to hear more about Peace Dollars. Maybe I'll do some reading on them, then PM you some questions!

Edit to say that fcloud beat the one finger bandit.

Dan,
My raw set is done except for the 1872. Have those in EF, but I need to replace my 1870 because it's corroded.
My graded set, I have five so far; 1864, 1865, 1867, 1868, 1871. Four to go.

I hate it when you see my post before I can edit the spelling.

I don't think I want to go after Franklins. I've seen what Lucy has done to other Frankie collectors!
Brian.
Silver roosies (or with clad) in MS (and you'd still have plenty left over).
Jefferson nickels in MS without full steps
Anything clad
Lincolns (59-date or all of them if you exclude the super-expensive ones) in G+ (or MS if 59-date)

I hope she doesn`t read this thread. Else I`ll be in the doghouse.
For an extended Nickel set you can collect a AU/BU 1938 - 1964 Jeff set and a low end proof together. Both a low end proof/cirulation set looks like it can be done together for under $1000.

You could pick Franklins up at shows or from local dealers and stay away from on line auctions

That still might be dangerous. Lucy gets around a lot.

If I had it my way, stupidity would be painful!
That is every circulating issue since 1964 in nice choice condition. It would require
a great deal of effort but no more than $1000. If you purchased the coins raw with
an eye toward quality there would also be lots of gems in your sets.

AND ACTUALLY HAVE A NICE SET, BUT I BELIEVE IT SOUNDS EASIER THAN ACOMPLISHING. SOME OF THOSE DATES WOULD BE HARD TO LOCATE IN PROBLEM FREE LOWER CIRC GRADES
