BCCG Grading-- First I Have Seen On eBay

In running a search for 1971 Topps baseball, I came across this card:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2710486631&category=16275

This is the first time I have seen a "BCCG" card on eBay. I thought Shop At Home was the only one pedaling this junk. Don't you love the deception? 8= Excellent or better. I know it has been discussed here before, but when Beckett introduced this service I lost all respect for them.

    Mefer,

There are over 1700 bccg cards on e-bay right now. However, if your only a vintage guy, you probably don't see them very often. They have been on e-bay for quite awhile, but mostly only modern cards. I agree, the scale is misleading (i.e. 10 = mint or better).

The Shop At Home buyers need somewhere to unload this stuff.image

Currently collecting.....your guess is as good as mine.
  • They are like roaches. If you see one, they are all over the place. They have been spreading through the vintage area for over a year now. Here is your link:

  • I like how sellers list their cards graded by other companies (i.e. not PSA) on ebay as SGC 88 = PSA 8, for example, when it's to their benefit. Why doesn't this guy do some keyword spamming of his own by stating BCCG 8 = PSA 5?

    JEB.

I've sent a couple of submissions to Beckett for the BGS grading a while back but with this BCCG and BVG grading, I have come to realize that Beckett is a bogus grading company. They are contributing to the crap that is ruining the market. "Small" collector's who just dabble in graded cards once in a while are being duped by junk like this. You would think Beckett would know what real collector's want.
