Is it ok to ask a seller to end an auction early?

I saw an AH kennedy on e-bay the other night and offered a very genurous offer. When the seller e-mailed me back they said they don't do that because they could get kicked off of e-bay and they also said they forwarded the e-mail i sent to e-bay so e-bay finds out what i'm doing. They also said they hope i get NARU'd. I always thought it was ok to ask a seller to end an auction early if there were no bids am i mistaken?

Most will write back and say either, sorry, it'll run its course, or yes, I'd consider ending early if I got $XXX for the coin. At least that way you know if the coin will be there during the last few seconds of the auction or if they'd sell it outright. And if they'd consider selling it outright, you want to be in that position.

We end them all day long with offers via a phone call or email. We would much rather sell to a collector at a cheaper price then pay eBay an end of auction fee.
And yes we are on lifetime probation with eBay! But then our average monthly bill on eBay is $9K so that has a little pull

I think that you are dealing with a dirtbag seller for reporting you. Please let us know who it is , so that I can add him to my dirt list.
