The emerging market

Last month someone asked what was going to be the hot coin(s) this year...what was going to take off? Well, the only thing people talk about on these boards anymore is toned coins, especially toned moderns...so there you have it...and the prices are going up across the board....I still think those early proofs in CAM/DCAM are underpriced, but now my money is on toned moderns.

  • There was a time when everyone in the Netherlands was talking about Tulips too. I also remember when Panda gold coins were the hot topic. Shall I continue??

In the two months worth of shows I've attended, ms63+ gold is in HIGH demand from dealers. I agree with Michael, although I believe that material will always be in demand. Toned coins have any appeal, and the demand should remain relatively constant for that stuff.

I fully agree with you , especially about the moderns and toned coins in general. This market is here to stay despite resitance from some and flawed comparisons to fads of the past.
