Homerun,
What power magnification do PCGS graders use when grading coins? Do they use a loupe and or a scope? Does if differ from modern coins to pre 1970 issues?
Thanks, GrandAm
PS. I currently have about 150 coins in process of grading,,,, PLEASE be kind to me!

Each grader has his own personal preference. Most graders like 5 power...some like 8. We'll only use 10 or 15 if we're checking out some important variety issue, or doing a "PRUNC" check (proof or Unc.) We only use a scope for counterfeit detection...HR
PS...I personally prefer 5 power, but I'm very nearsighted and nearsighted people have natural extra magnification close-up.
