Bought two error coins yesterday.

One is a 1999-D 'Broad Struck' Lincoln cent that's about the size of a nickel, the other is an 80% off center no date Roosevelt dime. Both look pretty awesome error coins.

  • Saw them both...I particularly liked the broadstruck cent...
  • Maybe someone can help me with this:

A guy I know got a roll of Quarters and a roll of dimes (2002, Unc rolls of each) and in each roll was a planchet which had the reeds, but nothing else. Worth much? Doesn't the reeding come from the hub? If so, how do you strike a coin so that only the reeding is imprinted? Capped die (but a MASSIVELY strong cap!?!)

  • I'm not sure about that one, maybe Dog97 or Conder101 could fill us in.
