Sorry, folks,

I finally got the pictures to post. I would appreciate some help on grading this walker. I don't have much contact with these coins as I don't collect them. I figure you experts could do a much better job.

Thanks

I'll guess and say its a strong red x.

The reverse X looks to be a little suspicious, i'd avoid it.

  • I agree, Catch, the rev. X red toning seems not to blend in to well with the rest of the white color and may very well be AT!

You two have got to be kidding, the rev red x is fine and is a very strong strike!

We are finite beings, limited in all our powers, and, hence, our conclusions are not only relative, but they should ever be held subject to correction. Positive assurance is unattainable. The dogmatist is the only one who claims to possess absolute certainty.

  • You are right Lucy it does have a strong strike but how could this be if this perticular box with a red "X" in it, was notorius for having very weak strikes? I'll tell you why, its a counterfiet! The diagnostics are all wrong. Cant fool me mrcommem you counterfieter you. image

  • Yes, Klector, but the 53X with the notoriously weak strike was the D mint mark. This 53X, upon 10X magnification, is actually the R-7 VAM-A-BAMA 53X-S; the missing S Variety!!!
  • Very sorry, my mistake, thanks for the correction.

  • I'd say 53
  • XF-45, whats the yellow stuff in her hand though?

    VF30 at best

Not enough for XF, but better than a low-end VF, so I would have to say VF-30.
  • Awful lot of wear on the breast and head, though the skirt lines are mostly bold. I'd say VF-20, best case VF-30.

I think that the coin is easily F, probaly VF, but not XF on a good day.
    I collect circulated U.S. silver
