Home PCGS Set Registry Forum

Hey Merc heads, give Marc a big welcome to the front page!

Congratulations Marc, you have climbed a long way in a very short time. Maybe you better slow down, you might get a cramp, or something, or pass me! image You have acquired some very nice dimes lately, and I see your name as high bidder all over ebay. Don't forget, if you fail to use passing signals, you have to give the guys you pass a nice MS65FB dime they need for their set! imageimage From where you are now, you can see where you need to go with no additional clicks!

Regards,

Wayne

Congrats, Marc! That '19-D is a tough coin. You've got some great coins in your set. Looks like we'll have to keep an eye on you in our review mirrors.image

The number of Merc sets in the Registry has nearly doubled in the past year; more collectors chasing a limited supply of those scarce dates. I'm surprised prices haven't climbed much on the Greysheet; again this week, they mention that Merc prices are "firm", with lots of support for the early branch mint coins. With the overall strength of the coin market, how long will it be before Merc's go up? I just hope the ones I still need aren't priced out of my reach.

When is this un-ending Assault on the Upper Sets going to end. Man its gettig stressful worring about a newer person all of the time. This must stop Immediately !!! imageimageimageimageimage

OK enough of the BS. Some nice coins are in Marc's Set. That 19D is Tough. I have actually been looking for a nicely struck 19D myself but it seems they almost always look the same as the coin I have or are way out of the price range I have.

Jim it seems lately the Gray Sheet is worthless when you are buying. Basically I think all it is used for is for a dealer to subtract from the low prices when you want to sell something. Its that way around here anyway.

Hi, I started writing a reply post about what a coincidence this must be about another Marc when I realized you were all referring to me in this thread, and I had indeed just earlier added that 1919-D image ...thought I can do this quietly, oh craps I hope my bettrer half doesn't see this now image

Onward though, it seems I'm in good company with all of you.......now to address some of the pressing issues, no pun intended, yes Wayne I do have a cramp, this little adventure of mine is becoming tough mind you I had already bid over my max only to see tonite I was overbid by crackerbombs (cute name for a merc raider!) whoever that is outbid me on both the 1939 and others I had my sights onimage Oh well!

Jim and Ken mentioned the 19-D I just added, yes I love it, its absolutely a gem, super strike (partial fb so not bad), super tone, photo attched does no justice but I tried. One of these days I'll add more photos to the registry set. Seems I only put in my first few and gave up on scanning them.

    Thanks for the support

  • nice addition, hey that is one I need also, tough date
guess I have to keep looking, I believe Ken is rt I see a lot
of red behind me, tough to just stay in the top 10 these days
Ken is also rt about the gs , those prices are way behind
what some of the hard dates bring, and I believe the pre-34
mint mark dimes are still going to rise in price

Marc keep up the good work
I couldn't find any Merc dimes that would fit in my collection at the Strongsville show. I really didn't look too hard. What is did see was some overgraded ones like au55/58 being passed off as unc.

Nice 19-D and nice set. I am glad most of you are in the main set and not the sets with varieties. image I would be a lot lower with mine! image
